Importance of Regular Sleeping Pattern

When I was a kid, my mom used to tell me how important it is to have at least 7 hours of sleep. Since this had been her motto in taking care of me, he always make sure that I got at least 7 hours of sleep regardless of what time I sleep as long as my sleeping hours is enough. I remember we still have the Sleepy Will cheap king size mattress that time to make sure I sleep soundly.  Hence, when I was a kid I did not belong to those who sleep at 7 or 8 in the morning. I thought this strategy of mom is fine and will not matter or affect anything until I entered high school.

When I was in high school there are lots of homework, quizzes, group activities, and recitation. Also, in my highs school we usually do not have class in the morning because classes usually start at 11 am. I do not remember why but my whole high school I did not experience going to class at 8 am. Since I did not have classes in the morning, it is fine if I wake up late because my mom did not have a problem with me waking up late as long as I get 7 hours of sleep. But then one time i sleep early at 8 pm and wake up at 6 am. Then I notice that I feel really tired at school like I am not in the mood to participate in class. During recitations, I notice that every time my teacher ask an opinion, especially politics related, my opinion is always negative or opposed to the government.

Aside from class recitations, my classmates also noticed that when we are having a group meeting or group work, I am always oppose on the groups idea. Not only that but they said that I am already not that attentive and cooperative compared to the previous month.

That is when I realize that it is not important to sleep for 7-8 hours everyday. I should also have a regular sleeping pattern because irregularity will result in negative thoughts and energy.
