/ Republicans Fear Trump

Republicans are obviously in fear of Trump, apparently afraid of losing their current political positions because opposing Trump means losing the support of their leader’s grassroots followers.

Only recently, their president fielded a new attack on another person of color. This time he tweeted insults at Democratic Representative Elijah Cummings, calling the latter incompetent and a brutal bully, and his Baltimore district a “very dangerous and filthy place infested with rats and rodents”, “where no human being would want to live.”

Silence of Republicans in Congress Denotes Support of Trumpism

It is hard to believe that everyone in the Republican Party agrees with what Trump said in his latest offensive against Democrats; words that exemplify Trumpism.

Yet not a single Republican dared to voice an opinion that would make Trump vent his malice on them. Not even the only black House Republican Will Hurd, who only went as far as saying that Trump’s tweet this time is different from the slur hurled against the four women House Representatives known as The Squad.

Although Republican Hurd agreed to condemn the racist remarks Trump threw against the four Congresswomen, he is one example of a Republican whose “Red” political motif is tinged with “Yellow.” Appropriately turning into “Orange” that matches Trump’s own distinct skin coloring.

Still, Rep. Hurd tried to sound a little braver by saying that one should not focus on an entire city and call it rat infested …and a flimsy comment about Trump losing his chance to be invited by the city to throw the first pitch

One House Republican who immediately became the focus of attention as a result of Trump’s vicious Twitterspeak, is North Carolina Representative, Mark Meadows. Thrown into the middle of the fray not only because of his close friendship with Representative Cummings, but mainly because the latter once defended him against Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s accusation that Rep. Meadows is a racist.

Still, the Republican Representative from North Carolina’s true political color also turned from “Red” to “Orange.” Rep. Meadows’ only show of defense for the Baltimore Rep who calls him “one of his best friends,” was by way of a text message which he let Rick Santorum, an ex-Republican Senator, read aloud on a CNN’s Talk Show (“The Lead with Jake Tapper.”).

The text message simply conveyed Meadows’ confirmation that Rep. Cummings is a close friend and works hard for the City of Baltimore. Yet his message made mention that he is also a close friend of Donald Trump.

Republicans overlook the fact that Donald Trump, who expects to be re-elected for another term as president, disparaged not only Rep. Cummings but an entire city and its people, as well as infuriated many non-Baltimore citizens. Despite the inappropriateness of Trump’s words and conduct, they continue to defend their orange-skinned leader; saying his remarks had zero-racist context.

They also overlooked or are not aware of the fact that one person who can help solve some of the ills of Baltimore is Trump’s son-in-law, Jarred Kushner.

Ivanka’s Husband Jarred Kushner is Scion to a Family that Owns Many of the Rat-Infested Dwellings in Baltimore

The city of Baltimore now knows who owns many of the hundreds of complex units that Baltimore renters have complained about; not only as mice infested, but also maggots and mold infested as well. Whereas before, they were in the dark about whom their “slumlords” are working for, Baltimore residents are now aware that Jarred Kushner, husband to Trump’s favorite daughter Ivanka, is co-owner of the dangerous and health-risk dwellings they have been renting and complaining about for years,

Since Orange is the new Republican color, it is likely that the Republican politicians will be carrying that color motif for the rest of their political career. They have made it clear to many that they are in Congress not to represent and work for their constituents; but to doggedly follow orange-skinned Trump, however twisted his arguments and ideologies may be.
