Kids and Teens like to become professional athletes, and why not? It’s fun to imagine about, you using your sports attire and being the best in your favorite sports attire, not to mention gaining big earnings.
But in the latest years, people have been inspecting more the way some of the athletes want a perfect body shape- hard enough to break a record.
Some athletes and politicians admitted that they are using steroids, which improve their strength and muscle mass and also artificial hormones. Steroids are illegal and can cause a serious health problems but research shows that kids and teens like to try them.
Let us discuss what steroids is all about, how is it dangerous to your body, and why it is good to stay away from them.
Dangers of Steroids
Anabolic steroids (Hier kicken) can cause a lot of different kind of conditions. Less crucial side effect include acne, oily hair, purple or red spots on the body, swelling of the legs and feet, and bad breath. A kid or teen who takes anabolic steroids has a possibility that he/she will not grow as tall as they were supposed to grow.
Other serious and long-lasting side effects are:
- Premature balding
- Mood swings
- Extreme feelings of mistrust or fear
- High blood pressure that can probably hurt the heart or blood vessels over time
- Aching joints
- Greater chance of injuring muscles and tendons
- Yellowing of skin; liver damage
- Increased risk of developing heart disease, stroke, and some types of cancer
What Are Steroids?
“Steroids” has two definition. Our body produce natural steroids, to help our body from stress and us to grow fast during puberty. (But our body produce a right amount of steroids so our body does not need and no need take any extra.) There is these type of medicine called “steroids” that others take if they have difficulties in breathing, pain, or skin problem. But these steroids is different from what athletes use.
